Deal Island is a census-designated place (CDP) in Somerset County, Maryland, United States. The population was 578 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Salisbury, Maryland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The small town was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Deal Island Historic District in 2006.
Deal Island is located at 38°9′16″N 75°56′44″W / 38.15444°N 75.94556°W / 38.15444; -75.94556 (38.154551, -75.945659).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.4 square miles (14 km), of which, 3.2 square miles (8.3 km) of it is land and 2.1 square miles (5.4 km) of it (39.66%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 578 people, 240 households, and 165 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 178.0 people per square mile (68.7/km²). There were 352 housing units at an average density of 108.4/sq mi (41.8/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 90.31% White, 7.96% African American, 0.87% Native American, 0.17%…

Skateboarding is a recreational activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. A 2002 report by American Sports Data uncovered there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a board in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the coming years the locations of skate parks tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The biggest change has been the generation that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a natural participation activity for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Find out all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the basics of skateboarding such as how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from personalized instruction to meet your current skill level.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Deal Island skate park.
