The city of Cortez is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous city of Montezuma County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 8,482 at the 2010 census. It is a popular stop for tourists, who do not necessarily tour the city, but stay there because of its central location among surrounding attractions, such as Mesa Verde National Park, Monument Valley, and the Four Corners.
Cortez is located at 37°20′57″N 108°34′45″W / 37.34917°N 108.57917°W / 37.34917; -108.57917 (37.349270, -108.579225).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.5 square miles (14 km), of which, 5.5 square miles (14 km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km) of it (0.36%) is water. Cortez is located in the area of the southwest known as the “High Desert”, as is most of northwestern, western, southwestern, and southern colorado.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, a work of art, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled had used a skateboard in the most recent year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have since doubled. In the following years the skate parks have more than tripled making skateboarding more accessible as privately owned parks and indoor parks are coming into the picture.

The most significant change has been the developed generation bubble that skated in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.
