Buncombe is a village in Johnson County, Illinois, United States. The population was 186 at the 2000 census.
Buncombe is located at 37°28′16″N 88°58′30″W / 37.47111°N 88.975°W / 37.47111; -88.975 (37.470987, -88.974935).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 186 people, 75 households, and 53 families residing in the village. The population density was 153.9 people per square mile (59.4/km²). There were 86 housing units at an average density of 71.1 per square mile (27.4/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.46% White and 0.54% Native American.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been molded and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data discovered there are 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. 85 percent of skateboarders polled who had used a board in the previous year were under the age of 18, and 74 % were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the physical locations of skate parks have more than tripled making it more accessible as privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are coming into the picture.

The largest change has been the generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the world wide mainstream of competitive sports and now sees it as a participation sport or art for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Is the fear of falling keeping you from progressing? Understand all of the basic principles of skateboarding quickly in a one-week camp. We will teach you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Regardless, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

How to Start:

  • Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.
  • Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Buncombe skate park.
