Hello, my name is Jose. I have been skateboarding for 19 years and have been an avid skater ever since. I work as an Engineer by day and love to skateboard and teach at any moment that I can. I have taught several children and adults basic skateboard lessons. On average we had them skating comfortably within a few days and getting a real understanding of an ollie after a week or so. I have created a few methods that work well to get them to have a good understanding of turning, pushing, sliding, riding off curbs, and feeling safe on the board. I teach both children and adults of all skill levels. I live in Jersey City and have easy access to Manhattan and surrounding boroughs including Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. I live close to Liberty State Park as well as any park in Manhattan. I have a strong passion for skating and really love seeing the skating community grow as new people gain interest in the sport. It is truly a great lesson in both self-motivation and perseverance. It has taught me a lot about myself both physically and mentally. I wish to share this passion with other kids.

Learn Skateboarding in a Week-Long School

Do you want to learn how to skateboard?

Understand all of the fundamentals of skateboarding fast in a one-week camp. We will show you the principles of skateboarding like how to balance, push, turn, proper foot placement, and how to stop. Irrespective, of where you are at.. you can benefit from individualized instruction to meet your skill level.

Skateboarding is a pastime activity, an art form, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been designed and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the ages. A 2002 report by American Sports Data found there are 18.5 million skate boarders in the world. 85 percent of skaters polled had used a skateboard in the last year were under the age of 18, and 74 percent were male. Those numbers have have doubled since the time of the study. In the following years the skate parks tripled making it more accessible as publicly and privately owned skate parks and indoor skate parks are becoming a reality.

The largest change has been the developed generation that skateboarded in their youth and have grown up with the “X” Games explosion into the global mainstream of competitive sports and sees it as a natural participation sport for their children led by X-Games Athletes who are affiliated and instruct for our brand and web site.

Ability: Beginner through Competition-Style Advanced.

How to Start:

Equipment: We recommend a board and a full set of safety gear. This includes: a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Rental equipment is available.

Location: We can do lessons in your driveway, in your garage, or at the Jersey City skate park.
